Glomex recently introduced a "Coastal" series of high-quality Satellite TV Antennas made 100% in Italy

Glomex recently introduced a "Coastal" series of high-quality Satellite TV Antennas made 100% in Italy for small/medium-sized boats. It features: movement compensation using electronic gyroscopes on two axes with interpolation of the third axis, NIT-based satellite recognition, no GPS or electronic compasses, and single connection cable from the antenna to the TV with seven European satellites already preloaded.

These features are common to all modern marine satellite TV antennae in the market. The control unit has a graphic display and can be integrated into the boat's electric system thanks to its reduced size (about 4 electric outlets). It comes with a mounting plate and a (Vimar brand) face place in anthracite colour, which is exchangeable so the customer can have the favourite colour instead.

The 10-30 V power supply is separate from the control box, with particular attention being paid to ventilation, minimising the most common installation problems in small boats: the integration of the control unit usually generates bulk, and attaching the device to a recess tends to generate excessive overheating, which can be deleterious to the adequate operation of the system over time.

The antenna supports any type of digital decoder and is available in two versions: single or four LNB outlets. Single and multi outlet definitely have better performance than the average for the market regarding the acquisition stage, tracking and image maintenance. Equipped both with a rotating joint, it does not need spooling back the cable because the joint can be revolved around the azimuth axis to infinity. For faster installation, all cables provided are already precabled; additional advantages (silence and robustness) are expressed through the use of a roll-bar insulation gasket and internal reinforcements. This is a "turnkey" satellite antenna.

Connectivity is notably simplified by the absence of a compass inside the antenna: post-installation calibration or compensation are not necessary. The series is comprised of Venus 39 cm, Saturn 47 cm and Mars 60 cm, and has achieved the homologation test according to norm EN 60945/2003 for installation and compatibility between different navigation/communication/entertainment devices on board vessels of any dimension. In addition to simple installation, the product is also easy to use, manage and maintain, including parts replacements; all installation holes, components and software are 100% identical for the different antenna sizes, with the exception of the dish and the radome.

The Glomex distributor network has locations in all European countries and around the world. In collaboration with its own distribution network, Glomex has developed a post-sales policy to insure high customer satisfaction, foreseeing,
in the more difficult cases, the direct shipment of spare parts to achieve fast intervention (antenna system, control unit, power supply) or even a full "spare" antenna if necessary.

This is thanks to the monitoring of installation conditions, allowed by inspections performed by boat builders and by the diagnostic possibilities of the control unit (the true heart of the satellite antenna) with immediate fault codes.

All this comes together with Glomex's commercial policy, strongly oriented towards OEMs, which starts with competitive pricing and allows the boat builder a fair margin for itself and its own distribution chain Without distorting the price of the antenna in a particularly competitive market, especially regarding the midsize segment, where customer sensitivity to price is notable, this results in the product being appreciated with respect to the prestige attained by the boat that has a satellite TV antenna on board. In conclusion, Glomex's satellite antennae are demonstrating to be the "first installation" choice of the boatbuilders that install this product, as series or as an entrylevel satellite antenna.
